Connect with the maritime heritage of Kingston and the Great Lakes at the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes’ storefront gallery. Located at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour next to the Marina Office, the Museum is currently open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm for free guided tours. Founded in 1975 by a group of local divers seeking to protect and preserve the artifacts of the shipwrecks they explored, the Museum occupied the Kingston Dry Dock from 1975-2016. In August 2019, the Museum purchased its historic property and is set to return to its historic location once renovations are completed.
In the meantime, we welcome you to feel like giants at our storefront gallery complete with ship models, artifacts and artworks that tell the story of our local and regional maritime heritage.
